Fun hobby

You can make your own soy candles at home. This is a very relaxing hobby. There is nothing better than giving gifs to others that you have made yourself.

Everybody loves candles, and even folks who have alergies to scented candles can enjoy a clean burning soy candle that is unscented. You can choose to make your candles with the sensational fragrances or just make it unscented. The possibilties are ulimited.

I have turned my hobby into a source of exta income. For details on how you can make your own candles at home for fun or profit visit this website.

EPA and paraffin candles

Recent testing by the EPA has confirmed that paraffin contains at least 20 or more dangerous chemicals . Now you know why. We are burning the equivalent of diesel fuel in our homes when we light a candle. When you burn a candle you are releasing these dangerous chemicals into the air in your home, in fact The American Lung Association also warns that burning paraffin candles can emit toxins into your home's air, yes, the air you and your children and even your pets are breathing can be harmful to your health.

Just take a good look at the containers that you are burning your paraffin candles in , aren't they covered in black soot ? How about the walls and ceilings near these candles ? What do they look like ? Now imagine what your lungs look like if you could see them...

If you are burning several paraffin candles at the same time you could be creating air pollution in your home similar to the air quality of some of our major cities..

Trichlorofluoromethane ,which is one ingredient in some paraffin candles, is thought by some scientists to be destroying the ozone layer of our planet!

Now don't think you have to stop burning candles, you just have to stop burning paraffin candles. We do have a healthy alternative, all natural NVSOY Candles. NVSOY is produced by our own American farmers, as opposed to the petroleum waste products used in soy, that is produced by foreign oil companies. So Soy candles are not only good for you, and the environment they are also good for our economy as well.

Parrafin candle update

Hello again,

Just to prove my point about Candles contining petreoleum
There was an article in the BOSTON HERALD on May 3, 2006 , written by Donna Goodison.

Her headline was

Oil prices put candle makers out of wax

here is a smal excerpt
It’s one of the less obvious examples of how soaring petroleum prices are impacting even the most basic of household amenities.
Candle makers have been contending with all-time-high prices and shortages of paraffin wax, a byproduct of the petroleum-refining process

The article went on to say that Yankee Candle had to raise it's prices 4% in November and they have kept the option open to raise them agin.

So if you have a choice of burning an oil refinery byproduct in your home or an all natural NVSOY candle , don't you thionk you should lean towrds the NVSOY.

NVSOY burns cleaner, longer and cooler, and does not emit the toxins like the candles made from the waste or by products of the oil refinng process..

Soy is grown by our American farmers, so by burning soy you are supporting th US economy, instead of the foriegn oil ompanies who are already gouging us at the fuel pump and with home heationg costs.

Think about it.........

If you want more info on Soy vs paraffin visit www.garvincandles.com , We make all natural hand poured NVSOY candles

parrafin is toxic

Hey folks in my first post I did mention how popular candles are. But did you know that some candles are also toxic ??

There are candles out there that use lead wicks, and that is not the worst of it.
Parrafin candles are made form Petreolum waste products. Thats right...
They take the bootom of the barrel sludge that is left over from the refinery process and use it to make candles. Someone figured that you could bleach that nasty sludge and stick a wick in it and call it a candle.

So what you are burning in your house is actually diesel fuel.. Did you ever notice how the candle jars turn black ? And also the ceiling and walls near your candles also turn black with soot...

Well think about it next time you light a candle..

There is a safe heatlthy alternative to paraffin. Burn Soy candles.. if you want more info on Soy candles just visit my website I have a great article on candles there

Candles are everywhere.

We all know there is nothing as soothing as a burning candle. The selling of candles is a huge industry world wide, because everyone loves candles.

I am sure most of us have at least 3 or 4 candles in our homes right now, and I know that several of us have many more than that.

I put this blog up so we can all share our thoughts on candles. For instance I always have wondered of all the scents out there today what is the most popular of all ?

I know I love French Vanilla, and Strawberry, but recently discovered a new fragrance, Cucumber Melon. This scent is awesome, a bit hard to describe but it is sensational. Well that is all I have for now, please feel free to contribute with your favorite scents.

Unitl next time take care Jim
